Important Information

Where is the starting point?

This tour will depart from our office located at Ou Landbousaal, 1 Noordwal Wes Street, Stellenbosch, 7600. We are located in Central Stellenbosch and within walking distance from the Guesthouse in the Town Centre.

What's the cancellation policy?

We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour departure. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.

Am I required to wear a helmet?

Yes, law requires that all riders wear a helmet. These are provided free of charge and sanitized before and after each use.

Am I required to wear a mask?

When cycling, you are welcome to remove your mask. We do ask that all guests have a mask available to enter our office and the Estates where we will have our wine tastings. All equipment is sanitized regularly, and we ask that guests complete the covid form and sign indemnity before the tour.

Can I leave the tour early?

Unfortunately no, we are unable to accommodate guests who must depart early. We ask that you stay with the guide and the group for the duration of the tour.

Can I store my luggage at your office?

Yes! Bring any larger bags along and you can leave them at our departure point where they will be safe for the duration of the ride.

Do you have e-bikes?

Yes! You are welcome to upgrade to a pedal-assist e-mountain bike for an additional R200. Please select this option when checking out.

How long is the ride?

We usually wrap up between 4-5 hours. This includes tasting and riding time, so it’s quite a leisurely half-day tour. We will cover around 12 miles/19 kilometers.

Is this a good tour for children?

Yes! We have 2, 20″ frames available plus a single-wheeled tag along bike or we can arrange for buggies (rental fee of R450) that can seat up to two children. Let us know in the notes of your booking what you prefer and we’ll be happy to arrange it for you. Wine tastings will include substitutions for children.

What kind of bike will I be riding?

We use Giant mountain bikes as they are the best vehicle for the type of terrain that we’ll encounter in Stellenbosch. You are also welcome to upgrade to a pedal-assist e-mountain bike for an additional R200.

Which food/drink are included?

We have included 1 standard wine tasting plus a chocolate and wine pairing. We encourage guests to bring along a reusable water bottle as this can be filled at our office. We will also provide a snack along the way.

Which sites will we enter?

We will enjoy a wine tasting at Lanzerac Winery & another one at Stark Conde, plus we will have an opportunity to enter Oom Samie se Winkel for some shopping.

Will I need cash?

All Estates accept credit card payments. Gratuities are not included and at your own discretion.

Will my bike have a basket?

No; we have opted for mountain bikes for this tour as they do better on the type of terrain that we’ll encounter. However we encourage guests to bring along a small backpack for their water bottle and personal items. Larger items can be left at our office for the duration of the tour.
