Seine River

Seine River Paris

Spanning from northeastern France to the English Channel, the River Seine flows through Paris and breathes life into Parisian culture. The river runs for 776 kilometers and can be admired from the romantic bridges throughout the city. This river has been an inspiration to artists, writers, and architects for many years, while also serving as an important means of transportation and commerce for France.

Locals often refer to attractions along the Seine as being on the Left and Right Banks, which are determined by the direction you face when standing downriver. Dating back to 1607, Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge in Paris, and you might even recognize it from historic poetry and modern films. Pont Des Arts is another famous bridge that was designed for pedestrians and is a popular place to bike, jog, and walk across to savor a picnic lunch. Many Parisian visitors choose to simply take a stroll along the Seine and soak up local culture. Our favorite ways to enjoy the Seine is a picnic along the Quai or Les Burges des Seine.

There is little that could rival a visit to the Seine River when it comes to having a quintessential Parisian experience. We have numerous tours available to let visitors fully experience life on the river. You can see many of the city’s top attractions from a Seine riverboat cruise including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Notre Dame Cathedral. You can drink free wine and watch the Eiffel Tower light up on our Night Bike Tour.
