Bronze Wittelsbach Fountain

This ornate fountain is located in one of the 10 courtyards of the Residenz Palace, and it’s available to the public. Originally constructed in 1610, it represents the four main rivers of Bavaria; the Danube, Isar, Inn, and Lech. The allegorical fountain was first placed here by Maximilian I who received it from his uncle, Duke Ferdinand. Much of the fountain was destroyed during World War II, but replaced in 1984.
