Parco Sempione

Explore Parco Sempione

Parco Sempione (Sempione Park) is Milan’s largest park and is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The green space is home to a handful of beautiful buildings, including the Arch of Peace, La Triennale di Milano (a fantastic design and architecture museum with rotating exhibits), the Acquario Civico, and of course, Sforzesco Castle. The city park is completely covered by free wifi which makes it a great place for visitors to enjoy nature, or even catch up on their news.

The Arch of Peace (Arco della Pace), towards the entrance of the park is a triumphal arch modeled in neoclassical style built in 1807, built from marble, bronze, wood, and stucco. There are a number of bas-reliefs on the arch depicting various events throughout Italian history such as the Battle of Leipzig, as well as mythological figures like Mars and Apollo. Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco) is a medieval castle that now houses several museums and works of art by Michelangelo and Da Vinci, among others. While roaming through the public gardens, you may notice a tall steel tower called Torre Branca, built in 1933 and recently reopened in 2002. The tower is the sixth-tallest building in Milan and offers panoramic views of the city and the alps on a clear day.

Our Milan Day Segway Tour cruises to Park Sempione, where you can take in the sights and of this beautiful public park and hear stories about its various buildings and structures from your entertaining tour guide.
