Part 2: Fat Tire Tour Guide Dan’s Paris Food Favorites
If you followed along Dan’s first round of Paris recommendations then most likely you have been left wanting more. Below you’ll find three additional locations for both options, sweet and savory.
Le Marche des Enfants Rouge

Open Tuesday through Thursday 8:30am – 1pm, 4pm – 8:30pm, Friday through Saturday 8:30am – 1pm, 4pm – 8:30pm and Sunday 8:30am – 5pm
This is the oldest outdoor market in Paris and delicious food abounds! My two favorites are Le Traiteur Morocain & Chez Alain Miam Miam. LTM serves heaping portions of steaming couscous and tajine served in hot clay plates on top of ceramic tile tables. I recommend both the couscous royale (a delectable mix of vegetables, roast chicken, and merguez sausage) and tajine with prunes, lamb and sesame, each less than 14 years. The other option, Chez Alain, has hands down the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life!!! The line can take a LONG time, but Alain is a one-man-show constructing enormous sandwiches full of delicious prosciutto, caramelized onions, mushrooms, olive oil, fresh baked bread, and comté/cantal cheese carved off an enormous wheel and grilled to perfection. It is absolutely divine.

Pozzetto Gelato Caffè
39 Rue du Roi de Sicile, 75004 Paris

Delicious authentic Italian gelato in the heart of the Marais! Their hot chocolate is also silky smooth, rich and decadent. The gelato there can only be compared to the amazing gelato I first tasted my semester abroad in Florence, the city which invented gelato. Pozetto allows you to have as many flavors as you want no matter what cup or cone size you choose! I recommend pistachio, nocciola (hazelnut) and gianduja (chocolate-hazelnut). You can really taste the freshly-roasted nature of the nuts! The coffee and chocolate flavors are also extraordinary.

The pizza in this cozy hole-in-the-wall in Montmartre is perfect Neapolitan style with a super thin crust, blistered cheese, fresh ingredients and delicate charcuterie. The chef is from Sicily and the pizza is classic Italian style. This place can get pretty packed, especially on weekends (definitely make a reservation in advance!!!) but I really like the close, intimate atmosphere with the chefs tossing the thin pizza dough in the air in full view of everyone in the restaurant. The prices are very affordable and the house red wine is superb.
Salvatore’s made to order ultra ultra ultra thin pizza behind Montmartre is like driving in rural Italy, completely lost and you find a 4th generation family pizza oven on the backporch of the grandmother’s farmhouse where neighbors drop in for lunch. Flour all over the vintage floor, Italian radio playing, carafes of regional wine. This place is just happiness.
