Berlin Marathon on September 26 and 27

As every year, we’re looking forward to the Berlin Marathon the last weekend in September.  As one of the biggest marathons with more than 40,000 participants, it books out early.  Berlin is  incredibly flat so the course is understandably fast.  The fall is also usually perfect weather. It’s this marathon where records are broken.

The massive crowds and blocked off streets mean we cannot conduct certain tours during the marathon.  The police just won’t have it, and it’s no fun for the tour participants, spectators, and marathon runners.  By Sunday afternoon (the 27th) the city is cleared, so we can offer 2pm Segway Tours and our 4pm Day City Bike Tour.  However, as always, we do have to cancel the following morning tours on Sunday, September 27th:

  • 10am City Segway Tours (English and German)
  • 10am Day City Bike Tour
  • 10:30am E-Bike City Tour
  • 10:30am Berlin Wall & Cold War Bike Tour
  • 10:30am Third Reich / Nazi Germany Bike Tour
  • 10:30am Raw Tour: Berlin Exposed! Bike Tour
  • 11am Day City Bike Tour
  • 11:30am City Tour in Spanish

As our Potsdam Tour takes the train out to get our bikes, our Potsdam Tour still runs as normal.

All tours on Saturday the 26th and Monday the 28th run as normal.  Please though keep in mind that on Saturday, particularly for our E-Bike Tour and Berlin Wall & Cold War Bike Tour, the rollerblade marathon will be going on so we will have to be patient at a couple intersections until there’s a gap in the race.

Looking forward to seeing you, and to all the runners out there we wish good luck, personal bests and big smiles! You’ve earned it!
