What to Wear on your Berlin Bike Tour

All booked and ready for your Bike Tour or Segway Tour?  Great!  Here are just a few pointers on how to make sure you’re dressed appropriately.

In a nutshell, the key to success is to dress in layers.  The bikes have luggage racks so you can strap down what you don’t need.  Most of our Segways have handlebar bags for you to store things.  It’s better to have something you don’t need than regret thinking you left it in the hotel.

On the Segways, keep in mind you’re going up to 20 km/h and not pedaling like you would on a bike.  It’s like being a consistent breeze.  That’s great if you’re dressed appropriately, so again, think about bringing that light jacket.  Similarly, on our 4pm All-In-One City Bike Tour or 5:30pm Evening Food Tour, it can get chilly at night so bring that extra fleece.

When it’s quite cold out in the fall and winter, we have gloves that you may borrow for free during your tour. Again, like the jacket: even if you don’t end up needing them, it’s good to have them on hand (pun intended).

Regarding rain, you can grab a rain poncho from the Fat Tire /City Segway shop before heading out on your tour. They only cost €1 and if you don’t use it, you can sell it back to us unopened for the full price. Think of it as a sort of rain insurance.

In terms of footwear, for your Segway tour you want comfortable, flat shoes.  Flip-flops or high heels aren’t the best for the foot sensors on the machines.  Keep in mind you’ll be standing for most of the tour, so just wear the type of shoes in which you’d be comfortable going for a walk.  For bike tours, our bikes have a relaxed ride so there’s surely no need to wear clip-in high-performance bike shoes!  Again, comfort is key.

There you have it.  Again, think layers.  When in doubt, bring the extra jacket or fleece.  You can leave whatever you don’t want to take with you on tour in our shop.  We look forward to hopefully seeing you soon!
