La Sagrada Familia Cathedral

Sagrada Família

La Sagrada Família is a historical shell of a church and the most famous attraction in all of of Barcelona. Construction commenced in 1882 and was designed mainly by Antoni Gaudí, who worked on the church until his death in 1926. Gaudí reportedly said “My client is not in a hurry” when asked about the lengthy contruction time, and no kidding: the church is still incomplete and set to be finished in 2026 – the centenary of his death. Following along with Gaudí’s original designs, the church will have 18 towers when completed and have the capacity to accomodate some 13,000 people, although his iconic approach to the modernisme style has yet to be replicated. The site brings in millions of visitors each year to see one of the most unique and revolutionary examples of design still to this day, nearly 150 years after it begun construction.

During our Barcelona City Bike Tour, after your guide provides you with unique and historical anecdotes, you are given plenty of free time to enjoy the views of the church from the outside. On our Gaudí Bike Tour with Skip the Line Sagrada Família, you’ll enjoy all the fun of riding through Barcelona on one of our comfy cruiser bikes, all while taking in the sights and fun stories about Gaudí and his work. The highlight of the tour is, of course, getting to skip the hours long lines into the Sagrada Família with priority access, so you can enjoy the interior of this famous church without any of the hassle of waiting.
