The Renaissance City
Firenze Comes to Life
Florence – both a destination and a passageway to Tuscany. Some come for the rolling hills and stunning views, while others prefer the laid back feel of old Italy. Great artists, such as Da Vinci or Michelangelo, both whom called Florence home, attract visitors year-round. As the capital of Tuscany, Florence attracts those wishing to experience high culture and rustic elegance. Whatever your reason, we would love to show you around.
As the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence remains a mecca to art-lovers. The famous Uffizi Gallery and Galleria dell’Accademia welcome visitors year round. Even the seat of the provincial government of Florence boasts a unique history, once the home of the powerful Medici Family. The Palazzo Medici can still be visited today.
The city beams with visible treasures, but the hidden gems are equally stunning. The Ponte Vecchio would be the only bridge in Florence to survive World War II, as Hitler deemed it ‘too beautiful’. Surrounding the Pitti Palace is the lively Santo Spirito neighborhood, aptly named for its bustling nightlife, and a great place for late-afternoon, early evening drink. Allow our local guides to introduce you to the city that abounds beyond the museums; the Florence that is stunning and unique in its own right.
