The Last Supper

The iconic painting from the great Leonardo da Vinci hangs in the Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. With limited daily viewings, the experience of seeing it first-hand is a once-in-a-lifetime-experience for most.

Da Vinci created the artwork between 1495-98. The brilliance of the painting is each apostle’s unique reaction to Christ’s imminent death. Da Vinci was said to have struggled to find a face villainous enough for Judas, and angelic enough for Christ.

The painting has been damaged and restored due to moisture from church renovations, World War II, and overall wear and tear with the last renovation taking 21 years to complete.
