Head to one of the lively #BuenasTardesPulitzer sessions, hosted all summer long and featuring DJs in a variety of styles. To drink, try a gin-based Bramble or refreshing Strawberry Cooler with cava. This spot gets packed quickly, so arrive early to grab a table.

While some rooftop bars shut down for the winter months or inclimate weather, the waterfront W Hotel offers a year-round experience. Take the elevator to the 26th floor to the glassed-in party at the Eclipse bar where you’ll find nightly DJs and top mixologists. The inventive drink list includes ingredients like avocado, gingerbread syrup, wasabi, and green chilis. Hungry? Eclipse offers a modern take on dim sum with delicious dumplings and steamed buns. This is the place to see and be seen, so you’ll want to dress accordingly. You can pre-book a VIP experience online.
Skybar at the Grand Hotel Central
You can see all the way to the sea from the eighth-floor Skybar at the Grand Hotel Central. The sleek space has several places to sit—from sofas to lounge chairs and dining tables. The food menu is classically Spanish with a twist, and the bartenders will whip up whatever drink you desire. Reservations are recommended for dinner. From April through October, the rooftop is open for free to non-guests after 8pm, and for a fee during the day (includes a complimentary drink).
With a prime location overlooking the Port Vell Marina, El Sueño is a dream indeed. The hip locale (a favorite among chic bar hoppers) is ideal for both daytime and evening libations. Michelin-star chef Marc Gascons heads up the menu of light, delightful dishes paired with a cool cocktail list: Try a refreshing Rapanui, with rum, pistachio syrup, and Aperol. The bar hosts live DJs on the weekends. El Sueño is also open in the winter months, but serving drinks only.
Look down on the crowds wandering Las Ramblas at this super-stylish rooftop venue, preferably right around sunset. The bar sources its ingredients from the nearby Boquería Market, resulting in a fresh, seasonal menu with cocktails like their passionfruit martini and Easy Way, with gin, yellow chartreuse, and apple juice. There are also non-alcoholic smoothies and an appetizing snack menu. The hotel’s pool is only accessible to guests. Reservations are recommended.

On top of the Museu d’Historia de Catalunya near the waterfront, this minimalist bar and restaurant takes its name from the foundation date of the historic warehouse where it’s housed. On the terrace (called the Terrassa de les Indianes) there’s a cocktail bar, a low-key lounge area, and a full restaurant serving elegant Mediterranean cuisine. Take in the excellent museum before heading to the sun-bathed rooftop to wind down your day with a drink and sweeping sunset views.
Another affordable-yet-stylish rooftop option, B-Bar offers drinks around €10 alongside panoramic views of Montjuïc and beyond. Food at the eighth-floor spot is casual—think pizzas, sandwiches and traditional tapas—while the drink list features classic mojitos and daiquiris. You’ll find that the space fills up in the high season, so be prepared to nudge your way to the bar. The use of the pool is restricted to hotel guests only.
Arola at the Hotel Arts Barcelona
Located in the five-star Hotel Arts Barcelona, the exceptionally elegant Arola restaurant and bar overlooks the seaside and the Pexi (fish) sculpture by architect Frank Gehry. It is the namesake restaurant of Michelin-star chef Sergi Arola, where his menu of reinterpreted tapas shines. The scene is more relaxed sit-down meal than buzzy fiesta, but it’s a top choice for both views and cuisine. Reservations are highly recommended.

With a bright, beachy atmosphere in the upscale Eixample neighborhood, Mood offers guests beautiful views that stretch as far as Montjuïc, the Mediterranean, and the neighboring rooftop of Antoni Gaudí’s La Pedrera. The bar/restaurant offers indoor and outdoor spaces for use throughout the year. As for the menu, try the tasty tapas with a focus on seafood and locally sourced ingredients.
