Antigua is compact and easy to navigate, but its historic streets consist of rough colonial cobblestones that require careful handling. Beyond the downtown grid, the terrain transitions into hilly mountain roads and rural trails suited for varied riding styles.
The dry season, running from November through April, offers the best cycling conditions with sunny skies, clear mountain views, and minimal rainfall. While the rainy season from May to October brings afternoon downpours, morning rides are often still clear and pleasant.
Tours generally visit iconic downtown sites like the Santa Catalina Arch, Iglesia de la Merced, and Plaza Mayor before heading outward. Extended routes often climb up to the Cerro de la Cruz viewpoint or explore nearby artisan villages nestled along volcano slopes.
