The waterfront promenade and marina area are flat and easy to navigate on two wheels. However, traveling away from the shore leads into hilly terrain with steeper inclines and road traffic. Cyclists often prefer sticking to the paved coastal corridors for relaxed riding.
Spring and autumn provide the most pleasant weather, with moderate temperatures and less road congestion. Cycling in midsummer can be very warm, so riders visiting during July and August usually prefer early morning or late afternoon trips.
Most cycling routes follow the Aegean shoreline, taking riders past the marina, Pigeon Island Castle, and scenic viewpoints along the cliffs. Some routes also venture toward local beaches such as Ladies Beach or the trails of Yılancı Burnu.
A standard bicycle is suitable for flat rides along the paved marina promenade and seaside boulevards. An e-bike is the better option if your itinerary includes hills, coastal viewpoints, or longer trips outside the town center.
Beginners and families can easily enjoy rides focused on the pedestrian-friendly waterfront paths. Routes that leave the promenade involve sharing roadways with motorized traffic and tackling inclines, which are better suited for confident riders.
