Fat Tire Bike Tours is ready to help you make the most of your school/university group experience, company conference, family vacation, or stag/hen party weekend in Berlin. We offer private tours for small groups and urban expeditions for groups of as many as 125 people at a time.

School / University Student Groups

We understand that Berlin's history is very important - yet sometimes difficult - to make sense of. That's where we come in. Based on your requirements and preferences we have a variety of multi-faceted routes we can tweak for you. Our guides also work with you at the start to make sure you and your group get everything you want out of your time with us, and in Berlin.

Example tour topics, routes, and notable features have included:

• City Tour Similar in route, sights, and content to our All-In-One-City Tour, here we'll cover Berlin's main sights and focus our discussions on 20th Century Berlin and how that impacts the Berlin (and world!) of today. Particular attention is paid to how Hitler came to power, why the Berlin Wall was built, how the Wall fell, the formation of the EU, and how Berlin is dealing with its past.


• Berlin Wall Tour For those groups that have already done some sort of city tour and prefer to focus just on the Cold War while getting away from the Mitte district of Berlin, this would be a great tour for you. Similar in route and content to our Berlin Wall & Cold War Bike Tour we would investigate the Eastside Gallery and Treptower Park Soviet Memorial. Discussion would focus on life on both sides of the Wall, escape attempts, and how Berlin played into the global Cold War.


• Photography Tours We have groups join us that must complete photo essays of their stays in Berlin. Be it with a focus on street art, alternative culture, flea markets, modern architecture, kebab shops, etc, we can help give your students focus on their specific projects while showing them Berlin.


• Nazi Germany Our guides can drill down deep into the rise and fall of the Third Reich. We recommend a tour specific to this topic - similar to our Third Reich / Nazi Germany Bike Tour - mainly for groups that have conducted some sort of city tour already and older student groups with some base knowledge, but will of course tailor our tour to specific groups.


• Fun/Evening/Boat Tours If you prefer an evening tour by boat that focuses more on Berlin's culture today, we're happy to arrange this tour as well. We have contacts with boat companies, know about Berlin's beach bars, and can make sure to hit up sights and hidden points of interest along the way.
  
• Architecture Tours Berlin boasts fantastic modern architecture as well as classic examples of Stalinist, communist, and fascist architecture. Name your tastes and requirements and we'll set up a tour for your group's needs.


• Potsdam Similar in route in content to our Potsdam Bike Tour, we can set up a great day trip for your students. We can also combine this tour with a stop at the Wannsee Conference House, if this is of interest.

Large groups get split so that each sub-group has their own guide. for you. We also recommend stopping at a beer garden or cafe along the way for a nice break and to allow the students (and teachers!) to ask more questions. Please note: the beer gardens at which we stop serve plenty of non-alcoholic beverages and a wide variety of food for various budgets.
